Clarifying the college admissions process for aspiring musicians and artists, all while maintaining mental health.
Strike the right chord
Navigating the college search journey can be overwhelming, especially for students who want to pursue a degree in music and the performing arts, and for parents who support them. It can be tricky to figure out where to even begin, which colleges to apply to, how to ace the audition process, and why it’s valuable to pursue a music or arts degree in the first place.
At Legato College Consulting, we understand the stress and uncertainty that can accompany this process. We specialize in guiding students through the maze of options, helping them discover the true value of an arts degree, and ultimately finding a college that's the perfect fit.
Parents, let me turn stress into clarity by getting your student organized, editing college essays, guiding them to shine in their auditions, and more, orchestrating a personalized path to the right college for your child's unique aspirations while maintaining good mental health.
What people are saying

"We were fortunately given her information and a very strong recommendation from a trusted mutual friend who had worked with her professionally. We were impressed with her professional experience, mission statements, motivation and goals after visiting her website. Her experience as a musician and her work with music schools during and following her own music/arts education was a big selling point for us. After speaking with her and hearing her passion for her work, we were convinced that we were in the right place."

"This was hands down the best decision that we made with respect to college admission for our son. She was extremely knowledgeable, proactive, available and kind. She took the guesswork out of what can be a confusing process and answered all of our questions. Most importantly, she engaged our son and guided him in owning and moving the process forward by explaining expectations and steps needed to accomplish his goals every step of the way. Though she is a musician and has a firm footing in music education and admissions, I would whole heartedly recommend her to work with a student with any academic or artistic talent or background. With her help and guidance and hard work on his part, our son was accepted into all 5 of the programs that he applied/auditioned for."

Appreciating the value of studying the arts
Throughout our work together, we’ll always come back to why earning a degree in the art is valuable to you as a student, and valuable to our society as a whole.
With hard work, perseverance, dedication, a lot of practice, and strong professional networks, your performing arts student can have the successful and meaningful career they want. The professional arts world is constantly changing to reflect our current society and cultures. There is so much room to innovate and be creative while also earning a good living.
An arts degree is valuable even outside the musical world! Not only does earning a degree in the arts train students to be masters of their craft, they’re also learning invaluable skills that are transferrable to any industry, like self-discipline, collaboration, creative thinking, emotional intelligence, presentation skills, and more.
